I always seem to find connections to your pieces. In this case, I worked out of PS 360 for a couple of years. I commuted up those steps (and sometimes from Kingsbridge) often. I know many of these places but theres so much I wish I had known. Happy to learn it all now. Keep walking! And keep writing.
How funny, Debra! Your family lived in Kingsbridge Heights. What a beautiful street! Do you know what number? Wondering if it was north or south of West Kingsbridge Road.
I’ll see if I can find out. We went back a few years ago— I remembered being high up and there was a park atop many stairs? We used to visit my Oma, who lived still on the Grand Concourse, while my mother had moved out to Kingsbridge Terrace.
Loving your blog and Jeff and I plan to use it to visit some neighborhoods. Please let me know if you would like a fellow traveler some time!! I’m game . . . .

I remember when you were based at a Bronx school - how fun that it was PS 360! The new part is very handsome.
Wow Rachel. Didn’t know that links to Grateful Dead concerts would be part of the package here.
I was pretty jazzed to find it.
I love this, Rachel. I
visited not too long ago— we lived on Kingsbridge Terrace until I was three. So which Kingsbridge is that?
